As a leading pharmaceutical company, MSD is aware of the need to incorporate open innovation for better healthcare. The best ideas may not always pop up where challenges are identified. That is why MSD wants to support and partner with external talent to collaboratively develop solutions following a win-win approach.
We are seeking for digital products and services that help HCPs and Patients to get the most out of our vaccines and medicines (read more about our focus areas below). We are always open to hear your ideas and to identify win-win opportunities that through a prototyping and validation will help us to demostrate the full value of the solution.
1. LAUNCH OF THE CALL
We look for innovators who help us solving healthcare challenges detected by MSD EEMEA team members. In each edition, we launch calls for companies to solve unmet needs focused on different areas - e.g. oncology, vaccines, diabetes or pain management, among others.
The selection process is done in two steps. First, all the solutions submitted are reviewed. Between one or three companies per challenge are selected to present at the Final event. They also receive mentorship from the MSD team that defined the challenge, stimulating collaboration from the very beginning. As the last step, finalists pitch their solution at an international event in front of a jury composed by MSD experts.
The digital solution with the most outstanding value for each challenge receives $20,000 to be launched in a local market. MSD also works side by side with the winning solvers to facilitate the roll-out of their solution.
The Innovation Factory is supported by Ticbiomed, a business association specialized in digital health.
Our commitment is steadfast as we work to increase access to our vaccines now and in the future..
We demonstrate this commitment through far-reaching policies, programs and partnerships to help people around the world lead healthier lives.
Though progress on global vaccination has been substantial, vaccines have yet to reach all those in the world who need them.
In partnership with nonprofit organizations, government agencies and the professional medical community, MSD provides technical expertise, in-kind contributions and financial support in an ongoing effort to help address vaccine preventable diseases worldwide.
MSD believes it has a role and responsibility in improving access to vaccines worldwide.
